H.O.G. Chapter

Origin of "Hog" nickname.

Beginning in 1920, a team of farm boys who became known as the "hog boys," consistently won races. The group had a hog or pig as their mascot. Following a win, they would put the pig (a real one) on their Harley and take a victory lap. In 1983, the Motor Company formed a club for owners of its product taking advantage of the long-standing nickname by turning "hog" into the acronym H.O.G., for Harley Owners Group.

Harley Owners Group.

HOG, the Harley Owners Group, having marked its 25th Anniversary in 2008 is now confirmed as the largest manufacturer sponsored owners club in the world with in excess of 1,000,000 members dedicated to having a great time riding their bikes.

Whether you take part in HOG's ABC of Touring Challenge, attend a HOG European Rally in venues like Lake Garda in Italy or St. Tropez on the French Riviera, or simply go riding with your buddies on a Sunday, being a member of HOG, and joining your dealer's sponsored HOG Chapter, is a great way to enjoy riding your treasured Harley-Davidson. We even have a Ladies of Harley group within our Chapters, created especially for, yes, you guessed it, our lady members, and LoH membership is growing every year!

Our two dealerships are proud to each sponsor and support a HOG Chapter. Rolling Hills Chapter is proud to be Europe's oldest Chapter, having been formed in March 1989, and is growing since linking with Cheltenham Harley-Davidson in 2008.

The Oxford UK Chapter was formed in 2003 when our Oxford dealership first opened. It's a thriving club and amongst other activities holds an annual Toy Run on the first Sunday after Easter, when up to 200 Harleys make their way from the Dealership to the John Radcliffe Children's Hospital in Oxford.
